Big in Japan: Yellow Magic Orchestra & Cibo Matto | Hollywood Bowl Presented by LA Phil:

I will be performing some Taiko at The Hollywood Bowl with The Taiko Center of Los Angeles. Excited to be sharing the stage along with such legendary Japanese musicians Yellow Magic Orchestra. I am also looking forward to hanging with longtime friends Buffalo Daughter & Cibbo Matto, whom both are reuniting for this event! It’s gonna be a Banger!! Ooh and DJ Towa Tei from Deelite!!

I have a long time connection with Japan since I have been touring there since 1996 with the Beastie Boys and Money Mark. The natural disasters that recently struck Japan really hit me hard. I am happy to announce that I will be submitting a song called “Al-Chan Loves Japon”, for a compilation put together by Tommy Guerrero & Rush Production. All proceeds to benefit Tsunami relief. More details to come.

Just returned from playing the raddest festival in Barcelona, Spain. It’s called the Primavera Sound Festival. It’s about 6 stages and over 200 bands. Got to see many friends and bands like The John Spencer Blues Explosion, Swan, The Album Leaf, Warpaint, PJ Harvey, Shellac (they rocked my stinky sox off).

I performed with Money Mark on The ATP (All Tomorrow’s Parties) Stage. Ashley Dzerigian on Bass Guitar making it all nice and Fatty!! I must say we are a nasty 3 piece. Although the finals Barcelona-Manchester United game was on at the same time, we still managed to rock the fine people of Barcelona. Barcelona beat Manchester 3-1!!
